Herts YPAG meeting September 2022 by Olivia

By Louca-Mai Brady,

Our YPAG meeting on the 23rd September was by far one of the most interesting online meetings we have had so far.

We started with a Zoom poll game of ‘Would you rather….?’ which was a great way to start the next few hours of researching.

We were joined by 2 researchers from Queen Mary’s University London who talked to us about a project which they are planning. The project would send supportive text messages to young people who are finding life difficult. Lauren and Madi (The researchers from Queen Marys) asked YPAG for our thoughts and opinions and how they could consider altering what we thought was a fantastic idea.

We had really interesting discussions. Lauren said:

“I had a great discussion with the Herts YPAG about my research idea, solution-focused therapy text messages for young people, and the members all contributed really helpful and insightful feedback and suggestions. I’m going to go back to my research application and make sure the points raised by the group are addressed, and should it get funded I have lots of ideas to consider when I develop the messages as well.”

To finish the meeting, we looked at some logos based on our artwork and ideas from our last meeting. Watch this space!

We then briefly discussed about what we wanted to do at our next meeting – as it is in-person and in December so therefore we are planning on having a Christmas party! 🎅🎄
