Young People’s Research Advisory and Involvement Group

What we do

The group enjoys meeting researchers or members of staff to help develop their projects to ensure they are suitable for young people.  This includes.

  • Helping researchers to decide if their project is suitable or acceptable to young people
  • Reviewing paperwork to ensure it is relevant  for young people
  • Giving suggestions on ways to approach the topic.
  • Opportunities to take part in research
  • Develop our own small scale evaluation projects that follow research principles.
  • Help Trust staff develop services and information

The group are also given the opportunity to take part in training such as, how to use an Athens account, understanding  the different aspects of research and recruitment and selection training to interview new staff.

We have close links with:

  • Born in Bradford research project
  • Bradford Young health apprentices
  • Local Universities
  • Research and Library services within the trust.

What's in it for you?

At Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, we want to engage with young people and provide opportunities for them to shape and improve services, it is a vital part of ensuring the needs of all service users are met.

By involving young people in decisions about their health and care, we will improve health and wellbeing, improve the quality of care and improve services, which will meet the needs of young people.

This group gives young people the opportunity to learn about health research, and get involved in and shape research and services for children and young people.

You will gain new skills through advising and consulting with NHS staff and researchers from across the Yorkshire and Humber region. We offer lots of opportunities and training for you to get involved in to ensure that the voice of young people is heard in influencing services.
