By Vijay Tailor-Hamblin,
Our latest meeting was a huge success, many of our members first time seeing each other since the incredible iCAN conference in Montréal, Canada this last July.
We stared off the meeting but introducing any new faces and retelling the favourite parts of our summer.
This then lead on to a 2 hours workshop from the Speakers Trust where we learned the ins and outs of public speaking : how to engage to audience while also managing our own nerves on stage!
After our well earned lunch break, we gave our advice on a study being worked on in Newcastle. We talked about in what manner it’s best to relay the information about a study onto a child and their parents!
And to finish, one of our facilitators – Annegret- updated us on her red light trial for Myopia. We each, in fact, got to try on these glasses and evaluate how we would feel if we were part of the study and had to wear them each day!
We are all looking forward to our next meeting in November and are eager to start some exciting new projects!
