By London YPAG,
Hello, my name is Sandra and I’ve been a GOSH YPAG member for the last two years now.
We usually meet up six times a year for our meetings at GOSH. However, because of COVID-19, we had to move to meeting virtually and so, we had our first ever YPAG virtual meeting on the 4th of July!
After being in lockdown for quite some time now, it was so lovely to see everyone who attended (we had 24 members!) especially in good health during these difficult times. It’s been difficult to go from suddenly seeing friends and relatives every day to not even being able to leave your house for the next few months; although, using Zoom definitely had its positives.
I know a few members who have to travel quite far to attend YPAG meetings so no travel was a great advantage! Also, I really appreciated the chat function enabling members to ask questions or give opinions straight away without disturbing the speaker.
We had two speakers at our meeting and one of the things I enjoyed the most was learning about the C-POS study; this is a questionnaire to find out seriously ill children are feeling. I felt like it was both fun and important to consider how this questionnaire would be received by young and older children. YPAG had to think about how children would answer the questions and how far back the children could remember.
Even though we had a virtual meeting, times for our break did not differ and I thought the day was well planned and organised. As always thank you so much to Deirdre and the team who helped ensure our first meeting went smoothly without any bumps!
