Eye-YPAG – Update on our first meeting by Jasmine, March 2019

By Vijay Tailor-Hamblin,

On Saturday, March 2, 2019, we had our very first Eye- YPAG group. It was so much fun! We did all sorts of activities, put together by Artist Sofie Layton, who was helping Jacqueline Miller with her C-i-2-i project. We embossed aluminium paper with pictures of eyes. Some of us made pictures looking at eyes, and also of what the eyes can see. We also did a trust exercise, and discovered that the person leading needs to make sure that the person they are leading is all right, and that the person who is being led need to tell the leader what they need, and how they can tackle obstacles together.
We were asked questions about what research was and who might use research, which was amazing. What made it so special was the great and fabulous team of researchers and the researcher that runs the Eye YPAG group, Louca-Mai. At the next meeting, we will work on our group logo and name. This is a great way to learn and make new friends – I have made a new friend on our first day already; she is called Holly.
