A New Chapter for Youth Voice: Strengthening Regional Research Partnerships
We are thrilled to share the culmination of a significant two-year journey. YPAGne has been a key partner in developing a regional research partnership dedicated to uncovering the health and social care priorities that matter most to children and young people across the North East and North Cumbria. This initiative was not only about identifying research gaps but also about championing youth-led approaches to ensure young voices are at the heart of health innovation.
We pushed our own boundaries by launching a pilot project with year 5 pupils at a local primary school. This collaboration allowed us to refine our skills in engaging younger audiences, using creative, arts-based methods—to make patient and public engagement accessible and fun for primary-aged children.
The insights gained from this partnership are helping to shape a more inclusive future for regional health research.
