Eye-YPAG

Eye Ypag LogoEye-YPAG is a young persons’ advisory group for eye and vision research which had their first meeting on 2nd March 2019.

The group meets in London at or near Moorfields Eye Hospital 3-4 times a year on a Saturday to:

  • Learn about research
  • Work with researchers exploring eye conditions and treatments
  • Make sure information about research is children and young people friendly
  • Share ideas on what should be researched and how.

The Eye-YPAG was supported by Moorfields Eye Charity, National Institute for Health Research Moorfields Biomedical Research Centre and Santen, a pharmaceutical company at set-up.

Who we are

The group has 16 members aged 8-16 years. All the young people involved have experience of eye problems and treatment and/or have taken part in clinical trials or other research.

Group members said they got involved to:

  • Find out more about eyes and eye problems
  • Learn more about research and science
  • Help research and work with researchers
  • Get involved in something that that would help me and other children and young people
  • Meet other young people and find out about their eye problems
  • Have fun!
