Did you know that on the 21st of October 2017 Great Ormond Street Hospital Biomedical Research Centre had a Family Fun Day ?

If not, I will tell you about it, as I was a volunteer!

At the entrance, there were some people asking for feedback on how the Family Fun Day was for the people who had attended.  Inside there were many stalls and one was giving out activity sheets. On them were answer boxes and pictures, and  some scientists had the pictures on their backs – you wrote the name of the picture down and learnt about the work of that scientist.

After that, I had to go to the stall that I was manning, which was the Young Persons Advisory Group in Research (YPAG) stall and they were running fun ‘Chocolate Clinical Trials’.

In the trials you had to pick a raffle ticket which either said 1 or 2, and one of them was dairy free and the other was dairy. The ’patients’, had to guess what type of chocolate it was and learn about the clinical trials process

Afterwards, I got interviewed for T.V. all about YPAG.

Overall, the open day was excellent!
